Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Greater Prairie-Chicken (Tympanuchus cupido) live in native prairie habitat, in limited forest and grassland regions. They are stocky grouse measuring about 16 inches in length, and weighing about 1.6 pounds. The adult males go through a mating display involving expansion of the air bladder/sac in their throats, hooting and clucking vocalizations, and stamping of their feet. This ritual begins before sunrise at the lek, and ends about 30 minutes after sunrise. Observers of this ritual courtship must arrive at the lek at least 60 minute before sunrise, and observe complete silence and darkness, so that the prairie-chickens go about their courtship rituals without distress or distractions. This species is steadily declining in numbers and has again been classified as "vulnerable" by the IUCN in 2016; major environmental threats include agriculture, hunting, and pollution.
